Connect OpenVMS Bootcamp: September 13-17, 2010 in New Hampshire
Posted by Carolyn Whitney on Wednesday July 28 2010 @ 07:29AM EDT
Register now and join Connect in mid-September 2010 in Nashua, New Hampshire for this must-attend event designed especially for OpenVMS professionals. This will be a comprehensive technical education and training event dedicated to the HP OpenVMS community, providing extensive opportunities to learn and network!

Bootcamp provides the opportunity to:
• Choose from over 100 sessions and hands-on labs
• Learn directly from HP senior engineers
• Hear from HP executives re: HP’s commitment to OpenVMS
• Attend the Oracle Rdb and Oracle database on OpenVMS technical forum
• Network and socialize in the OpenVMS community

Previous attendees of the OpenVMS Bootcamps have been impressed, including these two attendees:

"The OpenVMS bootcamp is by far the best use of our OpenVMS training dollars - you get direct access to OpenVMS engineers in addition to other bootcamp attendees, any of which are likely to be able to help with any questions/problems you may be having! There's nothing like learning about OpenVMS features from the people who had a hand in creating them. Also, hands-on Storageworks labs offered there are valuable for both learning and experimenting."
-- Ron Kaledas

"I have attended 2 Bootcamps recently. Back in the mid-80s, with no prior experience, I built world-class data centers from what I learned at DECUS, attending both semi-annual symposia while it survived. DECUS is gone, so what to do now? I was surprised at the exceptional value of Bootcamp. There is no equivalent to knowledgeable experts who get things across in the presentation so it is understood - I found this at every session I attended at Bootcamp. And a plus is that I became reacquainted with old friends from the DECUS days. I recommend it without hesitation."
-- Dave McKelleb

OPENVMS BOOTCAMP OVERVIEW

Connect strives to create a vibrant OpenVMS Bootcamp for the user community! We will work closely with HP, our partners, and our customers to provide a high-quality educational and training event.

Bootcamp, a five-day event, is focused on the intermediate-to-advanced OpenVMS technologist, and is expected to draw approximately 250 OpenVMS practitioners, consultants, engineers, and decision makers.

Connect is planning on offering 125 different sessions with more than 70 speakers, including:
• 9 keynote sessions
• 55 sessions from HP
• 15 sessions from Oracle or Oracle Partners
• 45 sessions from the OpenVMS user community and OpenVMS partners

Many more sessions have been submitted, and the registration website will be updated to reflect the final session list. More Bootcamp information can be found at: http://www.connect-community.org/?page=OVMSBootcampHome
