After 31st July 2009 you will need to have a software support contract to get the 60% trade-in return credit when you move to OpenVMS Integrity.
For years HP have offered a 60% trade-in return credit when moving to OpenVMS on HP Integrity Servers from previous OpenVMS platforms. After the 31st July this year this will not be available.
If you have a software support contract you will still be able to get the 100% software trade-in return credit.
If you do not have a current software support contract you could pay the “return to support” fee and then get the 100% trade-in
return credit for their software. All license trade-ins require the new license to be covered under a Software Support Service contract.
The official notice and more details are on the HP software licence trade-in and transfer web page.
So it is time to get your migration project going.
The HP Licensing web site contains information and policies on OpenVMS licensing including the software licence transfer policy which covers what you transfer.
