Web Services Integration Toolkit Version 2.0 for HP OpenVMS AlphaServer and Integrity systems is now available
This is a new HP-supported, customer release version of the Web Services Integration Toolkit for OpenVMS.
The Web Services Integration Toolkit provides a set of individual tools to significantly help you develop a JavaBean to expose legacy application logic. These tools are designed to be valuable both individually or in combination. All of the WSIT tools run on HP OpenVMS.
New features in Version 2.0 include:
- Support for sending and receiving BLOBs, with no maximum size for messages
- Preliminary support for new AXIS2 web services. (AXIS2 is currently in field test.)
- Built-in tracing for all wrapped routines and parameters.
- Extended WSIT IDL to allow fine grained tracing at the level of individual parameters.
- Tighter checking of Boolean values in IDL.
- Support for POJO clients with zero parameters.
- Bug fixes (see Release Notes for more detailed information).
- Backward compatibility change:
WSIT Version 2.0 requires some users to make a minor change to their Java source code that calls a WSIT-generated application. The generated interface for structures with a usage of IN/OUT changed from StructureHolder to ObjectHolder. These users will need to change their Java code to use ObjectHolder instead of StructureHolder.
WSIT 2.0 requires
- OpenVMS I64 Version 8.2 or higher or
OpenVMS Alpha Version 7.3-2 or higher
- ODS-5 disk
- Java 2 Runtime Environment 1.4.2-1 or higher
For more detailed information on requirements see the WIST for OpenVMS Installation Guide.
