Hundreds of Oracle Rally customers have built applications...
Posted by Kenneth Farmer on Tuesday July 01 2003 @ 11:21AM EDT
Hundreds of Oracle Rally customers have built applications that remain important to their businesses but they wish they could take advantage of modern n-tier-ready software architecture and graphical user interfaces. They would like to continue to use their fast, reliable Oracle Rdb databases to store the data for the application.

To achieve help with this modernization, HP Services has developed a program utilizing HP Services Principals and a third party tool vendor that will help you convert your Rally applications to Java. The vendor is MainTrend. The Rally to Java Converter is a software tool set and methodology that takes an application coded in Rally and generates Java-2 application source code and XML definitions with minimal need for a programmer intervention. The conversion includes both the graphical user interface and the business logic. This is not a face-lift of an existing application but the same, complete application built on new advanced technology. Tests to date by MainTrend have achieved an automatic conversion of 80% or better of each Rally application, leaving 20% or less to be completed manually. You can read about the Converter and test a conversion with the demo applet at the MainTrend web site:

http://www.maintrend.net/

To find out more about this service please send the following information to openvms.ebusiness@hp.com with the word RALLY in the subject line:
· Name
· Title
· Company name
· Phone number
· Email address
· Name of your HP account manager or the account manager from your supplier who handles HP products and service.
· Version(s) of Rally you use
· Business applications you support with Rally
· Other Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) you use

Once we hear from you, an HP Services Principal will contact you to schedule a time to develop a conversion plan that best meets your needs and technical directions.
